Well, you know I like black backgrounds with flowers, so this one works for me! The white is not blown out at all and contrasts nicely with the blue-purple.

Beautiful columbine, such a delicate and beautiful flower! My eye looks for a hint of a stem, but its just floating there... A peaceful image... Great work!

Very nice capture Walt. Excellent detail and depth. Nicely composed as well. My only suggestion would be to make the blue accent a bit thinner. I like the color but the size sort of draws my attention away from the flower just a little. My web designer keeps telling me the borders are to accent, not compete. He has to keep telling me that, so it seems! Just a thought. Anyway, very nice capture once again. Aloha.

Thanks Vince, I agree; I don't know why I went with the thicker color border this time. I toned it down a bit and re-upped the photograph. Regards.

You know Walt, I was wondering what lens you used with that nice 6x7 outfit that caught this so nice and sharp as well as with the great depth for such a close-up. And surprise, it's a digital outfit. It seems that the best macro/closeup images nowadays are almost always digital. Bummer!

because I have been gone a bit and because this is a columbine I will tell a little story.

Once I was given this little bit of a plant by a woman. I didnt think too much of it as it just wasnt much to look at, just some green leaves and stems. Oh this is nice I thought, now why would she give me this awful thing I would think to myself. After unsuccessfully trying to kill it, I was informed, by another friend, to relocate it. When I finally did remove it from my kitchen sil and over to a nice spot in the garden this crap plant as I thought produced the prettiest white and peach flowers for me. Later I added some more crap plants which made these light blue/purple creatures for me. and in the end I was grateful and appreciative of what the first friend had done by giving me such an awful plant as a gift.

The End.

Thanks for bringing up a little bit of memory.
