What are member opinions on reposting of images in threads?

I am guilty (I think) of this in that I can't remember all the images I have posted in the past to image threads,

so some are probably reposts.

Is this a sin of/or bad ettiquette? Does anyone notice, or care?

I don't see a problem. If it's a No Words thread, I don't have many pictures which apply to a specific subject, so occasionally post a picture I've used before. Usually - not always - I declare "Posted Before". I add PN to the filename of pictures I've used to remind me. But I don't think anyone minds, even if they remember the earlier posting.

Age has sometimes dimmed my memory. If I am reposting an image I usually remember to add the text "repost". Sometimes I just forget that I've perhaps posted a shot in the distant past. To forgive is divine.....

Just how carefully do we each look at every No Words photo in a thread that we couldn’t deal with seeing it again? Something sometimes gained from seeing the same photo in different contexts.

How many No Words threads have been posted on the same theme, after all? Shadows, anyone? Backlit? Smile?

I have no problem at all with seeing an image repeat in the NWF. What i do find annoying, however, are people who ignore the posting guideline for that forum, and it is always the same members who do this.

Nobody will know or care. Going through the 6000+ photos stored on my computer I'm constantly finding stuff I don't remember taking and I assume no one else will remember. I'm posting a few oldies later today in "Mirrorless Monday/Monochrome Monday".

I find constant frequent repetition of advertisements (in all media) far more annoying - if I didn't want it the first time, 'blanket bombing' will not induce me.

That said - a good image is a good image, and always worth viewing multiple times.
