On Saturday night my local river experienced its highest flow since the near-legendary Flood of ’64, having fielded more than 10” of rain in 72 hr in parts of its basin. I didn’t venture out with my camera until the next morning, after the stage had dropped about 6 feet at this location. This is as far as I got along the river trail, which, in theory, extends a bit farther toward the trees before turning left. Or at least it used to.

Well, my new camera has a 963-page manual, rivaling the length of the textbook for my year-long university physics class. (I’ll admit it: I’m enjoying this)
